Here is a quick overview for this season.

Soccer in the Streets wants to help kids be successful both on and off the field.
** Focus on fun and learning PROPER skills, with a trained & certified age-group coach, who works with players and parents/volunteers, and supervised by professional staff.
** Keep competition appropriate and in perspective, with flexibility to help kids be challenged while at the same time realizing success.
** Maintain a "drama-free" zone for players & parents, which is inclusive regardless of physical ability or skill, ethnicity, social class, family situation, religion or gender.
** Teach love and appreciation for soccer by people who are passionate about the game, while reinforcing life lessons, modeling positive values, promoting character development and providing work experience for teens & young adults.

Assistant Coaches - 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U (to help during practices, and organize substitutions on game days)

Field marshals (provide supervision on game days)
Registrar (to help collect paperwork and fees)
Uniforms (to help hand out new jerseys)
Scheduler (help organize teams, coordinate with age groups & other associations)
Concessions (coordinate with team parents for volunteers)

PLAYER EQUIPMENT:  All players will need to have cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball (size 3 for ages 3-7, size 4 for ages 8-10 and size 5 for 11 and up), black shorts and black soccer socks.  Players should also bring water to practices and games.

LOCATION: All age groups will practice on Monday and Wednesday at Duncan Park in  Fairburn on the football fields

6 & UNDER, 8 & UNDER:  These age groups are all about learning the game and having FUN. This is the ideal situation for parents who have children they would like to introduce to the game or organized sports. A Soccer in the Streets staff coach will lead the trainings.  Parents/volunteers are encouraged to participate at practices and will be needed to help the kids and their assigned teams at games.

10 & UNDER:
This age group is a further progression of the FUNdamentals and some introduction of positions and even a little bit of tactics. These teams will also get to play some AWAY games.  There will be an age group coach and, like the younger teams, parents/volunteers are encouraged to participate at practices and will be needed to help the kids and their assigned teams at games.

12/14 & UNDER: These divisions will be more competitive, with our participants playing teams from around the Metro-Atlanta area as well as other Soccer in the Streets programs. The participants will have a chance to experience playing teams home and away throughout the season, so some traveling is required (within the Atlanta area). It will be a great opportunity for skill development with a variety of teams and will be trained by our certified staff coach, with assistance from parents/volunteers.

OTHER PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:  For kids 14 and up, young adults, both male and female.  Please contact me at [email protected]
if you are interested in those opportunities.  You will be referred to the appropriate contact for those practices and games schedules.

GOT AN IDEA TO MAKE OUR LEAGUE BETTER?  We are truly grass roots … in fact, we’re the dirt!  That’s where the seeds grow.  We’re always open to new ideas and suggestions.  Want to arrange for team pictures?  Want to do a field day clean-up project?  Want to make signs or banners for the teams?  Want to find sponsors or supporters?  It’s all possible and because we are small, we don’t need to move a bureaucracy to make things happen.  Let’s talk and see what can be done.  We don’t ask “why?” – instead we ask “Why not?” – Contact Ulric Alsobrook @ [email protected]
